Define Onboarding Steps

💻 Recruit/Onboard > Onboarding Employees (Manage Onboarding Steps tab)

Add New Steps

  1. Click on the green [+] button
  2. Select the first checkbox to make it a mandatory step - (this will be selected for all new employees added to Onboarding by default)
  3. Enter the step name and optional description
  4. (Optional) Select Require User to Upload Document or Send Document to User checkbox
    • Enter a Document Name - (how it will be labelled in the system)
  5. Click Add Step

You can now select this step when setting up your onboarding workflow.

Document Workflows

The workflow depends on which option you check and whether or not you attach a template:

  • Send Document to User - tick 'Send Document...' option & upload a template if you don't need the file to be returned
  • Send and Return Document - tick 'Require User to Upload Document' & upload a template
  • Request Document - tick 'Require User to Upload Document' & don't upload a template

Include Document Template

💡 Save the Onboarding step first, then edit it to upload a template document!

This enables you to attach the document (as a download link) to the onboarding email you send the employee.

  1. Edit the step (Green edit button)
  2. Choose your File
  3. Click Update Step

Manage Onboarding Steps

From the onboarding steps setup page, you can:

  • Edit an existing step (Green edit button)
  • Delete an onboarding step (Red x button)
  • Change the order of the steps (click and drag up or down the list)
