Guide to Public Holidays
From Rosters to Payroll
Key Points
- Staff need to be rostered in their usual shift
- They should not clock in or out for the public holiday
- A work-type to pay the public holiday as ordinary hours is required
Rosters
If you want to indicate that the staff don't need to come into work, create a Public Holiday room and move the shifts to that room/location. Please don't convert the roster shifts to leave or delete them.

Timesheets
Staff don't need to sign in/out for their shift since they didn't actually come into work. The system will detect that the day was a public holiday and use their rostered hours instead!

Payroll
In your Payroll Settings, you can go to the Work Types section and confirm that you have a work type called 'Public Holiday Not Worked'.
